We’re pleased to be able to offer you a sample chapter and a sample appendix from our book for your review.
Chapter 3 looks at the concept of audience, including how to identify the audience of your project, and how to tailor your communications to engage your audience in ways that will support the success of the project.
Why is this important in project communications? By knowing your audience, you can tailor your communications for them, leading to decreased uncertainty, increased trust, and a greater possibility of project support and success.
Appendix E provides a list of sample ground rules as described in Chapter 4 of the book. Ground rules like these outline the way communication is handled, what to expect, and who is responsible, along with many other aspects of working together. These rules, which should be developed and agreed upon by the whole team, show that all team members have made a commitment on how they will work together—including communication protocols and expectations.
